Day 2

Yesterday Patty and I packed up and headed toward Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee. As we drove north out of Tel Aviv, we passed through Herzliya, which is an upscale suburb of Tel Aviv and the location of Israel's equivalent of Silicon Valley. Motorola and Microsoft have R&D facilities there. We continued through the coastal town of Netanya and then Hadera where we turned inland toward Tiberias, Patty taking pictures from the car all along the way. In route we drove through the biblical Valley of Megiddo (Armageddon) and past Mount Tabor, also mentioned in the Bible-Judges chapter 4, and Jeremiah 46:18. Once in Tiberias, we settled into our hotel and explored the promenade along the Galilee. It was blistering hot and humid outside!! We had lunch and returned to the AC of our hotel. That night we returned after dark and after it cooled down a little to witness the night life. There was an amazing light show put on at the water front, using light projection into fountains and sprays of water. Today we will explore the New Testament ruins of Capernaum and Korazim, as well as the long thought locations of the Mount of Beatitudes and Loaves and Fishes. Will report more tomorrow.
